Chief Hanneman has over 36 years of experience in Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management. His career included positions within the Boise, ID, Chula Vista, CA., and Idaho Falls, ID., fire departments. He spent the last 22 years as a Chief Officer and the last 11 years as the Fire Chief. He retired from the City of Idaho Falls in 2019. He is currently a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Bonneville County, Idaho Sheriff's Office.
In addition, he was the owner of the CPR Connection in Boise, a Private School training personnel to be EMT's, Paramedics, and CNA's.
Chief Hanneman (Retired) has been an Adjunct Professor for Idaho State University and the University of Idaho for over 15 years with both online and in person instruction, teaching in the areas of Homeland Security, Emergency Management, and Fire Protection.
Chief Hanneman is also a trained Public Information Officer with several years of experience. He teaches the FEMA Basic Public Information Officer Course G290, and FEMA Joint Information System/Joint Information Center training for Tribal, State, and Local PIOS G291.
Chief Hanneman is an Incident Commander for a Type 3 Incident Management Team and has been deployed to several incidents including managing Bay County Florida's Hurricane Michael response in 2018.
